Russ Taylor, with over 50 years of experience in the real estate industry, has dedicated his career to helping buyers and sellers navigate the complexities of the real estate market. Growing up on a farm, Russ learned the value of hard work, honesty, and perseverance—principles that continue to guide him today. A lifelong resident of Champaign County, Russ has lived in Mahomet his whole life and is a graduate of Mahomet-Seymour High School, attended Taylor University, and graduated from the University of Illinois.

Russ is known for providing personalized service, recognizing that real estate is more than transactions—it's about helping people find their place and achieve their goals. In addition to residential sales, he has experience in developing residential lots, new construction, and select commercial properties, giving him a broad understanding of the market. His commitment to relationships has earned the trust of families who return to him across multiple generations.

Outside of work, Russ enjoys traveling with his wife of 50 years, Charlene, and spending time with their family, including their two sons, daughter-in-law, and four grandsons. His interests include bird dogs, reading, hunting, and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He is active in his church, has participated in Promise Keepers, taken part in mission trips, and served as a mentor in local schools.

Russ’s dedication and professionalism are reflected not only in his numerous honors—including CCAR’s 2009 Realtor of the Year, RE/MAX Hall of Fame, Chairman’s Club, and Lifetime Achievement Awards—but also in his industry credentials as a Managing Broker and holder of the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designations.

Russ began his real estate journey with Taylor Realty in 1972. Over the years, he and his brother have owned and operated multiple franchise brokerages. In 2023, Russ and his brother Nick brought things full circle—reestablishing Taylor Realty Associates as an independently owned firm, committed to delivering trusted, local expertise across the 217 area.
